Chance
September 17th, 2006
Way back when I was a wee little college radio DJ, I fell in love with a very obscure song by the band Piper Cub named “Chance,” released on a 7″ in 1995 from Sub Pop Records. According to this link, it was on a 7″ called “Chance/Number One Sound.” Incidentally, Piper Cub was compromised of bandmembers from Velocity Girl and Tsunami. I was reminded of this by reading our former Music Director’s blog recently — Toby now has a nice little blog of his own (about music, of course). Back when it was released, Toby wrote that it went something like: “They break it down right in the middle with some ‘woo-woos’ a la World Party.” I’d like to get a hand on this 7″ to hear exactly what that song sounds like again.

Funny you should mention this. Check out my blog for a nice surprise, I suppose it’s the next best thing to finding the Piper Cub single in some dusty used bin.
