A List of Asian Technology Speakers
March 22nd, 2007
There’s a growing list of technology speakers who are of Asian descent going on. I’ve been doing my fair share of naming people in the comments of the post, because lately I’m a little miffed (OK, “miffed” isn’t the word, really) that I don’t see more Asian representation out there in the technology sector. C’mon — it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that there’s an onslaught of Asians in the field, people. Please contribute the name of anyone you know of that has speaking experience in the technology sector, along with any associated links from previous engagements.

ok I’m probably ignorant here because I care less and less about visibility on the web (read “popularity”)… doesn’t look too bad. I mean if you threw together a list like that of a bunch of white people, I’d have no idea who most of them are… and if that list were even bigger?— the noise would be too overwhelming for me and most people to care.
That being said, I do think that both PoC and poorer folks need to be better represented on the web. A lot of this is STILL so damn small right now. I mean I know a large chunk of that AsianAm list because most of them are here in the Bay Area (which also has a high concentration of Asian Americans to boot), but where are the poor people? Where are the African Americans and Latinos on the tech web circuit and on the net in general? Where’s the guy from Ohio? You catch my drift.
