My Stupid Mouth
When I don’t hide out behind the comfort and safety of my own monitor, I like being involved in the community around me in a myriad of ways. One of the ways this sometimes manifests itself is by speaking at conferences or being invited to talk for everyone’s mild amusement. Strangely, people invite me to speak at these things and I never really get why. I think it’s because they know that I don’t really like messing around with poetry slams. The first reason is because I don’t write poetry. (OK, OK — at least, not anymore, thank God.) The second reason is, when I write poetry, it’s actually good.
